EMO the Inner Demon

I have a little crying devil, and I named him Emo,
short for ’emotional, to express feelings of sadness and melancholy.
The inspiration came suddenly.

One day, I noticed at my three-year-old child was uninhibitedly.
He insisted on getting what they wanted,
flatly refused what they didn‘t want, screamed and sang loudly,
and both their laughter and tears seemed to be expressed with all their might.

Suddenly, I felt truly envious.
Weren’t we all like that when we were little?
Living freely and unrestrainedly like little devils.

But as time passed and we grew older,
under layers of politeness and moral constraints,
I saw my once uninhibited little devil become smaller and smaller,
and now he‘s crying. Is yours too?
